Dolly Zoom Effect in Premiere Pro - Tracking Technique

Welcome, folks! In today's Premiere Pro tutorial on the After Framing YouTube channel, we’re diving into the fascinating world of dolly zoom effects. While many dolly zoom tutorials are out there, I'll simplify the process using manual tracking in Premiere Pro. This technique mimics the iconic Hollywood dolly zoom, which is typically achieved with specific equipment like a zoom lens and slider. However, we’re going to replicate it using drone footage for a unique twist.

Start by selecting your footage and positioning the time indicator at the beginning. Set keyframes for both position and scale. Move to the end of the clip and set the final keyframes. Adjust the scale to 160-200 to create a smooth, cinematic transition. To enhance the effect, apply manual tracking: use the rectangle tool, place it over a prominent curve in the footage, and activate motion. This will add depth to the shot. After playback, hit enter to render and watch the magic unfold – a cinematic dolly zoom effect, created with precision and flair.
