Hakuba Japan. 2 meters of snow in 4 days. Ski, snowboard and how to clear your car.

This week in Hakuba we saw one of the big ones. Every few years we get a massive snow storm and this one dumped around 2 meters of snow in 4 days. Sensational conditions although one of those days had some gale force winds that stopped many of the lifts. We had a great session out at Tsugaike and an epic one down the southern end of the valley at Kashimayari. This week I also give a few tips on clearing your car of snow. There are a few tricks of the trade and trust me I have cleared my fair share. When you arrive into town the first stop should be the Komeri hardware store on the main road. Pick up an extendable snow clearing stick, some gloves, a shovel and some gumboots (wellies). Clear the front drivers door first and start the engine. Get the heaters on and then get on to clearing off the rest of the car. Do this 30 minutes before you want to leave. Also beware of the wall of snow that the road clearer may have built up at the roadside. Often it is ice and you can get your car stuck teetering on it.

This weeks drink of choice was 1800 Reposado Tequila. Personal rule is to never drink cheap tequila. This is one of my faves and the one we usually shoot. Tonight I sipped :)
