Removal of Alternator on a 17 maxima. Previous alternator was done by the local dealer. They sold the customer the only alternator they offer a reman with a one year warranty, it failed 6 months after warranty expired. Makes you wonder if this is a common problem with these cars electrical system (undersized amperage) or if the dealer simply is selling cheap stuff. We replaced the dealer unit with TYC unit from Rockauto with limited lifetime warranty (parts only)
Shop rate for this job is 2.8 hours PLUS AC recovery
(obviously in this instance customer was not charged for AC)
