Compex Ayre is the first set of compression boots that I came across that had built in pumps on each individual boot. Unfortunately, even though I was aware of these boots, I hadn't decided to check them out until Therabody came out with their own, similar version. Having tried the Therabody JetBoots first, I was severely disappointed by the Ayre. I would not classify the Ayre as a traditional set of compression boots in the same way I would RecoveryAir, Normatec, or Rapid Reboot. These boots are no more than a glorified calf massager in my mind. They WILL NOT help move any fluids back to your core as there is a large separation between the calf and knee sections. The squeeze on them is not the greatest as it does not fully encompass your leg. Overall, in my opinion, they should not be calling themselves a compression boot as it is confusing to the public. That being said, they are on to something with the built in pumps as it gives you a freeing feeling to not have to worry about cords and I actually didn't mind the velcro strap on the top portion as it allows you to adjust the size for a nice fit.

These could be good for someone who is looking for a device that can provide a gentle squeeze on their legs, primarily their feet and calves, but should not be considered for someone with inflammation, lymphatic, or metabolic waste movement in mind.
