China, Uganda expand bamboo partnership

China and Uganda are deepening cooperation on bamboo as a cleaner energy alternative to firewood. A showcase in Kampala highlighted bamboo charcoal technology, part of efforts to boost renewable energy and curb deforestation. China has pledged more experts and training to grow the sector.
