Pterois miles is a venomous marine fish, commonly known as lionfish, native to the Indo-Pacific. It is characterized by conspicuous warning coloration with red, white, creamy, or black bands, showing pectoral fins, and venomous spiky fin rays. P. volitans and P. miles are recent and significant invasive species in the west Atlantic, Caribbean Sea and Mediterranean Sea. This video shows the pterois miles swimming pattern to attract its victims. It moves around and swings like poseidonia plants.
This Pterois miles was filmed in the Karpasia peninsula in the Meditteranean island of Cyprus. Enjoy this amazing capture of an amazing beautiful fish.
