Merrion's Engineering Mentorship program is open to all high school and San Juan College students (need to have taken Algebra I) who have an interest in or curiosity about engineering. Class is held before school from 7:00 to 7:45 a.m. every Wednesday morning of the fall semester starting late August and running through early December. Students will learn common sense tools to predict the performance of an oil or gas well. They then build an economic spreadsheet that turns their predictions into dollars and cents. Their final project is to evaluate a property that is for sale and to recommend a bid price to Merrion's management in a formal presentation. It is real life, real dollars, real fun.
