Kamalji Devi temple at Lonar Crater: ancient meteoritic impact site

Aerial view of the Kamalji Devi temple. Kamalja Devi Temple is located beside the Lonar Lake and also features carved images. Although the water level rises during the rainy season and falls in summer, the temple is located above the water level.

Lonar Lake is a saline soda lake located at Lonar in Buldhana district, Maharashtra, India, which was created by a meteor impact during the Pleistocene Epoch and it is the only known hyper velocity impact crater in basaltic rock anywhere on earth
