The Wells Built Hotel was an economic and social hub of the African American community in Orlando during the 1920s and '30s. It was built by Dr. William Monroe Wells in 1926 as a place to provide lodging to African Americans who were visiting Central Florida. After two years of restoration, the former hotel has been turned into a museum, full of artifacts and memorabilia celebrating local African American history. This segment is a part of WUCF's "ONE."
