Beretta M9A4 Review – Is the Barrel Finish a Dealbreaker

After 220 rounds with the Beretta M9A4, I found a barrel finish issue that might be a dealbreaker — here’s my full review.

The Beretta M9A4 is one of the most anticipated pistols in Beretta’s lineup, but how does it really perform? In this full 38-minute video, I unbox the M9A4, take it to the range for drills, accuracy tests, and real shooting impressions, and then break it down back in the office for a full inspection.

From the smaller grip size and G-style decocker to the trigger pull, takedown, fit, and finish, I cover everything. On the range, I put the M9A4 through its paces with Magtech 115gr FMJ, Federal 124gr HST, and Speer Gold Dot 115gr, running drills like double-action/single-action transitions, failure-to-stop, Bill Drills, and slow-fire accuracy at 7 and 15 yards.

Back in the office, I take a closer look at the bore and show comparisons against my Fusion 1911 and SIG P320 — highlighting serious concerns with the barrel finish. I also address viewer comments about pistol competency and small arms in modern warfare.
