Tanya makes a cooking video of her favorite mac and cheese recipe, which is the 91st recipe of her personal cookbook.
REAL RECIPE:
You will need:
butter
flour
milk
salt
cheese of your choice
macaronis of your choice (elbows recommended)
crackers (optional)
Steps:
1. Take a large pot and fill it with water, then put it on the stove at high heat for boiling. Do not add the macaronis just yet.
2. Take a half-size pot on the stove on medium heat and add 1 full stick of butter, 1 tablespoon salt, and 1 cup of flour. Stir until the butter melts and the mixture begins to bubble.
3. Once the butter mixture bubbles, add 2 cups of milk, and 3 cups of your cheese. Should be shredded, if you have block cheese, shred it first. Stir and wait for the milk and butter to bubble and the cheese to melt, then turn off the heat on that pot.
4. Once the water has boiled in the big pot, add 1 full box or 16 OZ/1lb of the macaroni. Stir for about 10 minutes until the pasta is firm, then drain the water using a colander in the sink and keep the elbows in the colander.
5. Get a baking pan or tray, coat it in a thick layer of olive oil (really important) and add the cooked macaroni to the pan. Then add the cheese sauce on top and stir until all is mixed.
(OPTIONAL) add 2 cups of crushed crackers to the top of the macaronis to give it a crust. You can also add additional shredded cheese to it as well.
6. Bake the mac and cheese for 30 minutes at 375 degrees fahrenheit. Let it cool down and taste it, but be careful to let it cool down first!!!
