Surviving Chaos: First IMSA Open LMP2 Race at Hockenheimring

My first IMSA Open Series race in the Dallara P217 LMP2 at Hockenheimring — a 45-minute rollercoaster!

It started with a spin in qualifying but still lined up P5. On lap one, I narrowly avoided two spinning LMP2s and settled into the race. This was all about learning how to handle the prototype in real race conditions, especially the infamous Turn 1.

From watching the GTPs slice through traffic to showing the difference in how GT cars vs LMPs handle suspension compliance, this race turned into a full-on Turn 1 masterclass (and a reminder that cold tires + T1 = danger).

Despite a heavy wreck on lap 12, I kept pushing to the checkered. A tough but fun debut in prototype racing with plenty of lessons learned.
