The stress transformation equations are graphed with theta on the horizontal axis and the stresses on the vertical axis. They are then graphed with tau on the vertical axis and sigma on the horizontal axis. When graphed this way, the equations result in a circle. This circle is known as Mohr's Circle, which allows a different geometric interpretation of the equations.
