Connecting Art and Music: Monet/Debussy into Today

Take a dreamy journey through art and music of the early 20th century. The purpose of this video is twofold: One is to connect art with music, in time period as well as style. The time period is 1900-1910 and the style is impressionist and Symbolist artwork featuring Monet's works and contemporaries as well as artworks of today.
I have matched a variety of historical and modern artworks to the live piano music of Debussy.
The other purpose of this video is to bring to light the art of some exceptional modern "hand" rug hooking artists whose work happens to relate well to the music of Debussy. The first half of this video is a curated slideshow of living artists interspersed with photography of nature and water themes. The latter part of this video contains my own photographs of paintings of Monet ( and other artists of the time from 1900 on) while he was visiting Venice, and later at his home in Giverny, courtesy of the Brooklyn Museum. The entire video is underscored by live performance pieces of the piano music of Claude Debussy. Debussy and Monet were contemporaries., while Debussy was a great admirer of Monet's work. The making of entire video was inspired by my recent "into the Garden " piano concert ( Music of Debussy) and getting to know some amazing living artists. Enjoy!
