COP29: Factory Farming and Climate Disasters in Global South

Greenhouse gas emissions are worsening climate disasters like floods, heatwaves and droughts. Everyone is impacted, but the world's poorer regions suffer the most.

The way we produce food – and cruel factory farming in particular – is mostly overlooked in the climate change debate, even though research shows that factory farming is responsible for 11% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

The longer we continue to use these damaging farming methods, the more frequent and intense heatwaves, droughts, fires, floods, and storms will be felt across the world.

We don’t need factory farming to feed the world. We can choose a humane and sustainable food future instead.
