Thermodynamics -5 Exact and Inexact Differential for CSIR NET/GATE/JAM in Chemistry

The state function is a property of a thermodynamic system which has a definite value for a particular state of the system. It is independent of the path that is followed to reach a particular state. The differential of the state function is an exact differential. The differential of Path functions are inexact differential. Exact differential can be integrated between the appropriate limits. Inexact differential can not be integrated between appropriate limits.
