Our Wonderful Saviour | Christ’s Supremacy, Salvation & Glory | Col.

Colossians 1:12–20 is a beautiful and profound display of the discovery of the unmatched majesty and glory of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

Who is Jesus? This age-old question is examined through the lens of scripture, showing how disciples, enemies, and even bystanders questioned His identity. Yet, God’s Word reveals Him clearly: Jesus is the image of the invisible God (Col. 1:15), the Creator, Sustainer, and Head over all creation. “Firstborn of all creation” and the “Firstborn from the dead.” He is above all things—in authority, essence, and purpose (Col. 1:17–18). Jesus is not just a prophet or teacher; He is fully God. The fullness of God dwelt in Him bodily (Col. 2:9), and He made the invisible God known to mankind - this is Jesus, the Christ!

In a world clouded by false doctrines and spiritual counterfeits, Paul’s message to the Colossians shines brightly, affirming the absolute sufficiency of Christ for our salvation. There is no need to add religious rituals, human traditions, or mystical practices—Christ is enough. Apostle Paul boldly proclaims a truth that remains just as urgent and transformative today: Jesus Christ is all we need for salvation. Because of who Christ is, those who trust in Him are made complete. In Him, we are fully equipped, fully accepted, and fully alive.

The gift of Salvation, from Christ - is not vague or symbolic—it is deeply personal and powerful. Through the cross, we are redeemed—purchased from the bondage of sin by the precious blood of Jesus. Our sins are forgiven, not partially or temporarily, but fully and eternally. And even more, we are reconciled to God, no longer His enemies, but His beloved children. This salvation doesn’t stop at forgiveness. Paul assures us that in Christ, we are made heirs to a glorious inheritance—every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places is ours. And as we continue in faith, God promises total restoration—a day when we will be presented holy, blameless, and above reproach in His sight.

This is the gospel Paul preached. This is the Christ we proclaim. This is the salvation that transforms lives—freely given, fully sufficient, and eternally secure in Jesus Christ alone.
