If you’re a race fan of any sort, you’ve heard about it. The exciting finishes, the atmosphere, and everything else in between have been plastered all over social media and the internet for the last few years now. Everyone has heard about the FALS of today, but few have dived into the FALS of the past. I decided to do a little research and digging of my own this year and was truly astonished with what I had found. So much, that I decided to give everyone a glimpse of the history behind the famed Central Illinois dirt oval. The tradition at FALS is unlike anything else out there in the racing industry. While I’ve always had a great appreciation for everything that the track and the town has stood for, it has now grown tenfold. And hopefully, after hearing some of the stories from the men who created FALS, you can do the same.
