Today we will hear Johnson share his early thoughts, in 1966, of General William Westmoreland with Henry Luce, the founder of Fortune Magazine and Co-founder of Time and Life magazines, and who supported President Johnson. Johnson respected Looses influence and appreciated his ability to influence public opinion through his publications, particularly regarding the Vietnam War. They sometimes had direct phone conversations to discuss policy matters, like you will hear today, including the Vietnam War.
