Watch here: In January 2020 GKN Powder Metallurgy won the Klimahouse Trend Award for their innovative product Hy2Green – a compact and safe energy storage system for renewable energy.
Excess energy from renewable sources is converted into hydrogen, which is safely and long-term stored in GKN´s metals based tank as metal-hydride.
Once energy is needed the hydrogen can be drawn back from the storage directly in form of hydrogen gas for mobility purposes (cars, forklifts etc.) or as power and heat for buildings or industrial applications.
