A few days after the dedication of Disneyland, these scenes were recorded on 8-mm film using a Revere Model 55 movie camera.
The images offer a look at the park before the Submarine Voyage, Skyway, Matterhorn, and Monorail System were built. Attractions that have been lost to time include the Rocket to the Moon, Chicken of the Sea Pirate Restaurant, and the Stage Coach Depot where Walt Disney was on hand to welcome guests.
Main Street, U.S.A. opens the film, after which a tour is taken through the various lands of the park. All the charms of Disneyland's inaugural summer are present, from an Autopia ride without center guide rails to a clown at a drinking fountain.
