Blood Tribe Social Development Conference - “Aispommootsi’yaop” March 12, 2025
The Blood Tribe Social Development Conference was held on March 11, 12, and 13, 2025, at the Sandman Signature in Lethbridge, Alberta. The Conference focused on a central theme titled “Aispommootsi’yaop”, which is helping each other, through traditional values. Sessions held during the three days provided a unique opportunity for Social Development clients to take in keynote addresses, presentations, and knowledge.
The presentations focused on traditional values, meeting the Social Development Committee, Blackfeet puppetry, early childhood development, an addictions panel, Good Movement, two-spirit presentation, and traditional tipi setup.
This video features a presentation by Kara Prebushewski, who works with the Wonder Nook in Lethbridge, Alberta. Kara is a dedicated speech language pathologist with 20-years of experience working across the healthcare and education systems. Kara has a deep passion for neurodiversity, brain development and the nervous system. She is always striving to understand how these elements shape communications and learning. Kara values connection, curiosity, and collaboration, believing meaningful progress happens when we approach development with openness and a team mindset.
