THE KATAWA SHOUJO RETROSPECTIVE (RIN'S ROUTE)

Katawa shoujo is a game where you date disabled girls and it changed my life. I deeply relate to another one of the characters so much i talked about her for almost 2 hours. Rin has issues communicating with other people and trying to express herself which are issues i've dealt with my whole life. In this video i will recap hanako's route while talking about personal relevant experiences and thoughts. I also talk about my opinions on katawa shoujo as a whole. I hope you enjoy.

So.... Rin. She is a... unique character. So unique, no words can truly describe her, our best approximation is "unique". She defies language and normalcy but at the same time she's human. Like any person, she doesn't want to be alone but finds it difficult to express her true self. Painting was the only way she could communicate but with the world we live in, true communication is impossible because of our vastly different personal experiences and interpretations. How does Rin deal with being different? How do we interact with people like Rin? I hope to answer those questions in this video.

i need to get on that video where i discuss the ethics of visual novel retrospectives, it'll touch on the morality of recapping visual novels into video form and sort of my guilt from doing so. Anywho, did ya'll know nothing matters? my depression taught me that. Welcome to the post video making ramble section. As this feature length video slowly uploads, i ponder upon uh thoughts ive had that i just want to air out. I had plans of covering any visual novel that wasn't katawa shoujo, bc it wouldve been more interesting but a couple reasons made me go for the "easy" option. So first, the script was already made, just had to edit it. Second i've migrated to another country and need to think about maaany things, could be busier than normal like from now on but i aint sure, so i didn't want to venture into an unknown VN too, KS is my safespace basically. Third, good timing with katawa shoujo's release on steam i guess. fourth, uh i love katawa shoujo and had something poignant to say about it.

With all that said, this probably wont be as successful or exciting an upload as people expected, ive been gone for the last 5 months and i return with a visual novel people have seen already with my hanako one. But i am building toward the huge katawa shoujo retrospective which will combine all routes which is like 4 years down the line. But ynow what, since i am done with Rin's route, i think i'll go ahead and try out some other shorter visual novels, see if they're worth retrospectising. I think the ideal mix is a popular visual novel that not many have discussed on YT in depth yet. Like Totono. So yeah that's my trajectory. I have a list already, so i just need to do it lol. But recommendations are welcome.
