In "Snow On Velvet", I picked my best macro photographs of snowflakes from five years of shooting. I put black velvet over our BBQ to catch snowflakes. I use a backwards mounted 28mm with a 36mm macro extension tube, on a Canon T2i. Because the depth of field is so narrow, multiple shots are needed for each flake -- 3 to 10 for the tiny plate flakes, up to 70 or 80 for the large detailed flakes. The parts of each shot that are in focus are combined by hand with photo editing software. Enjoy!
The album, "Carols On Guitar" by Don Francisco, Jerry Palmer, and me, is available on iTunes.
