Aikido Nidan test - Antwerpen 2024

Two years have passed since I took my Shodan test, and Aikido remains a cornerstone of my life. Over these two years, much has changed, yet Aikido has stayed a constant, guiding path—challenging me, inspiring me, and providing endless opportunities for personal growth, both mentally, physically.

These years have been filled with remarkable experiences: from my first visit to the Honbu Dojo and classes by Doshu and Osawa-Sensei all the way to starting to teach in the dojo where my own Aikido journey began. Along this path, I’ve learned that while the “Way” is ultimately a personal journey, the people who walk alongside you make it truly meaningful.

I want to thank my teachers for their guidance, encouragement, and belief in me. To my friends, whether in my local dojo or spread across the globe, thank you for sharing the mats with me. The energy, joy, and connection we share—whether in seminars or regular practice—are often the highlights of my week.

I also want to honor the memory of Yoshimitsu Yamada Sensei. His profound influence on my path—through his teaching and the incredible community he built—continues to inspire me to strive for the best in every aspect of my practice.
