Toyota and Honda are riding on their 80-90s reputation of reliability. They’re now overdone.

Toyota and Honda used to be the Gold Standard when it came to Reliability, Simplicity and Affordability.

People are no longer buying new Toyotas and Hondas to keep longterm. Look at how many lightly used Toyota Tacomas, Tundras, 4Runners, Sequoias and Land Cruisers are on dealer lots now. Same goes for Honda, checkout how many lightly used Ridgelines, Pilots, Passports and CRVs are there.

RAV4s and Siennas are even starting to stack up on Toyota lots.

The reliability is no longer there. Toyota issued a recall of 55,405 hybrid vehicles due to a defect that can cause loss of drive power and vehicle fires.

The recalled Toyotas include the 2025-2026 Camry Hybrid and 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid models made between August and November this year.

The Tundra recalls have been horrific for the brand. The engine debris issue causing main crankshaft bearing / engine failures.

2. Repo rates continue to surge to unprecedented levels! Between 2.5-2.7M in 2025!
