Odanthurai Shanmugam is a man who took it upon himself to become the change maker and completely make the villages in the Odanthurai panchayat self sufficient. He has accomplished this through some smart governance that is a mix of new and innovative techniques as well as complete utilization of government policies to create an environment which is self sufficient.
He has a installed a solar grid within the village as well a windmill that not only generates the power for the village but also sends the surplus power back to the grid. He sets an example of how urbanization is not the only solution to problems faced in the rural areas. He is a pioneer in this front and has set the path for a new way of rural development. Odanthurai Shanmugam is a man who took it upon himself to become the change maker. He single-handedly has turned the villages in the Odanthurai Panchayat into completely self sufficient ones through the use of new practices and government schemes.
