In this video we are fixing the greyed out menus on Panasonic GH5 and GH5s cameras. What happened and why are my menus greyed out? This is something I wondered for almost a month until I figured out the solution. The only issue that was bothering this camera was the "photo settings" filter that was turned on. I managed to turn off the "EXPRESSIONS" filter and everything went back to normal. Before fixing this I wasn't able to use custom profiles, changing the file formats, frame rate or use VFR. In the second part of this video I will tell you a funny story of when I realized my menus were greyed out. I was actually preparing my settings to film a commercial for one real estate agency. Minutes before my clients arrived I realized my menus were greyed out. I couldn't fix anything. I googled the solution but nobody knew how to help. I managed to find a workaround - I switched my mode to C1 (custom button 1) and then after changing my file format from MP4 to MOV I was able to set up my settings. Luckly, with this workaround everything went fine. Being at home and filming this videos I often struggled with this workaround. Everytime my camera would go to sleep all of my settings were back to zero. I had to set them up again. I was frustrated. I had to find a solution. I needed my camera back to the original state. I was playing with settings. Literally, switching each setting ON and OFF to see if anything changes. Once I got to the "Photo Settings" and switched it OFF I was saved. My camera was normal again.
