Welcome to Part 1 of my summer motorcycle adventure to Sierra Nevada!
The journey begins in Lisbon on August 13th, forecasted to be one of the hottest days of the year. After filtering through traffic on the 25 de Abril Bridge, I head south on the A2 towards the Alentejo plains.
The goal was to make good time, but the heat and constant roadworks around Beja and Serpa made for a challenging morning. Riding a motorcycle in 28ºC+ (and rising) requires patience, especially when you have to stop every few kilometers.
In this episode, we cross the Alentejo region, pass the Guadiana River, and finally reach the Spanish border at Vila Verde de Ficalho.
