Lt. Gen. Steven A. Hummer, a 40-year Marine Corps veteran, assumed command of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North during a ceremony at the Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans. With an extensive operational background, including roles in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, Hummer previously served as chief of staff to the Military Personnel Policy's Repeal Implementation Team. He is the first commanding general to lead both commands at their new Algiers location.
