Why Does Classic Scooby-Doo Look So Bad on Cartoon Network? - a Sam Valentino Mystery

I'm pretty surprised Cartoon Network and Boomerang in the USA still air the original "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" using older worn-looking TV masters. For over 20 years now, "Go Away, Ghost Ship" has been presented in even worse condition, all fuzzy and sped-up from PAL speed (like the rest of the series once aired on cable until 1998). Not only that, but Warner Bros. restored the show in high-definition in the 2000s and uses that for home video and streaming releases, but CN and Boomerang still don't! That private toon detective Sam Valentino, with a bit of help from Scooby-Doo himself, talk about and speculate how this came to be.
A BIG thank you to @SpaceHunterM for much of the older sped-up Scooby-Doo footage, and thanks to @Tomblappy for the Classic Scooby-Doo VHS!
All "Scooby-Doo" footage © 1969-70 Warner Bros. Discovery; "Family Guy" clips © 2005 FOX and Disney; FAIR USE!
