Only 50km south of the city of Munich sits the historical town of Bad Tölz. As well as being a spa town, Bad Tölz is famous for its well maintained late-medieval and early-baroque buildings along the Marktstrasse. A short hike up the Kalvarianberg will also bring you to the Kalvarianbergkirche, an 18th century church that sits upon a medieval execution site and provides a beautiful view of the town from above.
