Okanagan View - Harp Quartet

The following piece “Okanagan View” is a composition that came about when I (Eline) wanted to practice the harp at my sister’s house in Canada by the large living room window but instead found myself distracted by the beautiful view of Okanagan Lake.

The magnificent nature is a language of God and reveals His presence and omnipotence. Nowhere can we be closer to God than in the work that His hands have created for our joy. We can always have an open eye for it, enjoy it and praise and thank the Creator.

In this piece, individual elements of nature are set to music, such as the birdsong, the calmly flowing water, the sun rays dancing on the water, and the mountains rising in the background.

What started as an original solo piece evolved over time into a harp duet, then a trio, and finally a harp quartet. It can be performed in any of these forms.

Das folgende Stück „Okanagan View“ ist eine Komposition, die entstanden ist, als ich (Eline Wins) bei meiner Schwester in Kanada am großen Wohnzimmerfenster Harfe üben wollte, stattdessen aber durch den wunderschönen Ausblick auf den Okanagan See abgelenkt wurde.

Die herrliche Natur ist eine Sprache Gottes und zeigt Seine Anwesenheit und Allmacht. Nirgendwo können wir Gott näher sein, als in dem Werk, das Seine Hände uns zur Freude geschaffen haben. Wir dürfen immer ein offenes Auge dafür haben, uns daran erfreuen und den Schöpfer loben und danken.

In dem Stück werden einzelne Naturelemente vertont, wie zum Beispiel das Vogelgezwitscher, das ruhig fließende Wasser, die Sonnenstrahlen, die im Wasser tanzen und die Berge, die im Hintergrund emporragen.

Aus dem ursprünglichen Solostück wurde mit der Zeit ein Harfenduo, dann ein -trio und abschließend ein Harfenquartett. Es kann in jeder Form vorgetragen werden.
