Starfish

When we spend too long in upright, static positions, our spinal discs start to dehydrate, harden and flatten; and our chest and front-of-shoulder muscles start to shorten. This is purely the effect of gravity, but it isn't healthy, and the longer and more consistently we sit or stand slouched, the tougher it is to reverse the changes.
So - the Starfish is the pose I recommend doing regularly (at least at the end of each day) to reverse the gravity-related changes. Start without the roller if that's more comfortable - or you can use a rolled-up towel as a half way house, if the roller is still too hard once you graduate from Starfishing on the flat.
This is the exercise I mentioned in Antonia Hoyle's Daily Mail article on why we shrink as we get older: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/ar... - so you could consider this an anti-ageing exercise!
