We had the other CIFSS Division 1 Semifinal as Santa Margarita took on Orange Lutheran, and this one was ALL Eagles from the very first snap!!!
Santa Margarita came out scorching hot, jumping to a quick early lead after a touchdown from number 1. Right after that, they dialed up the surprise onside kick, recovered it, and immediately marched down the field again — this time hitting Trent Mosley for another quick score. Two drives, two touchdowns, and the Eagles made it clear they wanted this one more from the jump.
And the tone only got stronger. On OLu’s next possession, Santa Margarita delivered a huge hit that forced a fumble and completely flipped the energy in the stadium. The Eagles scooped the momentum and drove right back down the field for yet another score.
Defensively, SM was absolutely suffocating. Number 44 was a monster with two sacks, and number 0 was everywhere — making tackles all over the field and even grabbing an interception. The Eagles defense dug in and dominated every snap.
The second half turned into a game of clock control as Santa Margarita had already taken full command and never let go. Pure dominance from start to finish as the Eagles punched their ticket to the CIFSS Open Division Championship.
