A normal day turns into trouble. We wanted to rework a section of our garden (mentioned in our tour) and moved two astilbe and an elephant ear to make room for a beautiful American Beautyberry bush. These bushes are so stunning for fall and early winter interest with their purple berries. The weeping stems worked great around our pond.
As we were moving these plants we discovered a problem, JUMPING WORMS. These worms are horrible in the garden as they eat up all of the nutrients around your plants. You can identify these by the thrashing habit they exhibit when you touch them, and their milky grey appearance. We found a TON of them as we were digging and pulled out all that we could. We also contacted our conversation society for the state to determine if they are really jumping worms before we go any further.
