The IFICI – Tax Incentive for Scientific Research and Innovation (also known as RNH 2.0) tax regime is the new framework created in 2024 to replace the previous Non-Habitual Resident (RNH) regime. It aims to attract qualified professionals in strategic sectors such as science, technology, innovation and research to Portugal, offering them specific tax benefits, namely a reduced income tax rate on employment income and incentives for income earned abroad.
