Real Life Pokémon: The Uncanny Documentary

This documentary explores the Uncanny Valley of Pokémon—the space where familiar creatures become biologically plausible, emotionally unsettling, and disturbingly real. By stripping away animation and nostalgia, we examine Pokémon as living organisms: their anatomy, behavior, habitats, evolutionary pressures, and the ecological roles they would occupy in a real-world environment.

Through realistic visualizations and grounded world-building, this film reimagines Pokémon as wildlife rather than characters. Fire types as volatile biological hazards. Psychic types as neurological anomalies. Ghost types as phenomena that challenge conventional biology. Each section asks the same question: if these creatures were real, how would they survive—and how would we coexist with them?
