Kick tape is a stiff woven polyester tape. This is used on the hems of gowns and trouser pants to protect the edges from wear and tear, as a result increase the lifespan of your garment.
To achieve a neat and professional look a hand hem blind stitch is recommended 😊
Blind Hem Stitch
I like to use a beading needle for hand stitches.
Work with an arm length of thread. The stitch step length is 5 – 7 mm for trousers or skirts. Work from left to right (or from right to left). The less threads you take up the less visible stitches are on the other side of the fabric, so you can make your blind stitch to be almost invisible on any side of your garment.
