SURROUND SOUND - JID, 21 Savage, Baby Tate - Metal Drum Cover by RJTempo (INSANE CHOPS!)

To my fans who have been around a while -- you know that I covered this song once already (roughly a year ago). With the song's recent resurgence in popularity (thanks to a Tik Tok dance challenge), I found myself playing along to it again, which made me remember that this is one of my favorite rap songs to play on the drums, EVER. The main groove is so crisp and punchy, and the second half presents a fun opportunity for some wild soloing over one of the best verses of JID's career...

I questioned whether I wanted to spend time recording and editing a cover for a song that I've already done, but decided that this would be the perfect way to measure my progress as a content creator; how much better am I now than I was a year ago? Not just in the performance, but also in the final product (shout-out to Sasha who has definitely improved their mixing skills!!)

I watched a side-by-side comparison of this and the old version, and was overcome with joy and a healthy dose of pride -- I am 100% making better videos now than I was a year ago. Hopefully the same can be said a year from now. I hope that you'll subscribe and stick around for the journey.
