Eggs are one of the main components of a Keto diet. There is no getting away from it. Wether it is breakfast or baking or even making the keto friendly breads. Since, more and more people are doing keto for weight loss, diabetes or any other health concerns: the demand for eggs has increased. It is also one of the most complete food nutrition wise and is the most affordable. It is the quickest protein to cook and also a favorite world over. It can be cooked in a million different ways, I am sure. So, it is is very important that we choose a good egg. The demand for chicken meat and eggs has driven the chicken to be raised in non, ethical or natural ways. They are fed corn, given a regular dose of antibiotics and growth hormones so that they grow large and fast. The deffinitely affects the quality of the egg and take away from the nutritional value of it. In this video I try to help you decided which egg is good and then you can make an educated decision.

The best quality egg has a dark orange large egg yolk, with a thick shell. You know that it is fresh when it sinks in water or it holds together on the pan when you break it and doesn't have a watery consistency.

If the egg is claimed to be from pasture raised free range chickens that is the best. Next in line if a free range egg or a country chicken egg. And the last one would be the regular egg available easily in the market, for which no claims are made.

The taste of a good quality egg yolk is umami and intense. The light yellow egg yolk will often times be tasteless.
