5★ Tempered Ajarakan Vs. Hammer - 個体値MAX 歴戦アジャラカン ハンマー ソロ【MHWilds】

This is the first video I've recorded using my new PC! It looks even better than my few previous videos. This is hands down some of the smoothest and best looking Monster Hunter Wilds gameplay one can find on YouTube now. I'm very happy, happy to give you guys this.

It's an absolute beast of a machine, everything in it screams "Gaming™️" but in short, I got an RTX 4080 Super, a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and a nice 1440p screen.

Anyways ; I spent a long ass time on this quest. Ajarakan is a peculiar Hammer matchup ; for one, its head is not its primary weakpoint, and it's very difficult to hit Ajarakan where you want. Its body is so compact, its back gets in the way of your hits, especially Hammer with its overhead moves that have hit detection very early.

But also, Charged Step is nearly useless in this matchup. There too few instances where I use it when fighting Ajarakan. As such, I changed my set and added random additional firepower and gave up on stamina skills, since I wasn't going to use the move much.

The time I spent on this was trying to figure out the matchup and how to approach this specific quest in general. The first thing I figured out after many runs was thar I can get an early mount on Ajarakan to get a ton of damage in quickly to take it out of the fiery state for a quick topple which can then lead into the first paralysis.

But then after many more runs with this strategy... I started to notice that Ajarakan was suspiciously walking in front of the big blunt dragonator thing when I was mounting it.

Look. I know what it looks like. But... I couldn't resist. I wanted to use it. It's like the most brutal environmental damage in the game and I love it. So I decided to do a freestyle run for once and while I'm still not using the palico or the Mantle, I was like "fuck it". Use the goddamn Minecraft piston.

Overall this run went pretty good. I almost carted myself at the end though funnily. My best time against this Ajarakan was 4:05 but I kept this run because it showcases its moveset better overall, and I also didn't get hit (by knockback).

Ajarakan is the monster that grew on me the most in this game. My favorite monster is still Doshaguma but I'd say Ajarakan is right behind. Very fun monster.
