Alpha vs Clay Hair

The question from an Anon on my tumblr:
"Hi Lex, you seem like a level headed person so I'm going to ask you and hope that you understand I'm not insulting you or anyone else. With CC hair in TS4 - Why is CC clay hair almost exclusively frankenmeshes? But alpha hairs are completely unique meshes. A new alpha hair in a different style comes out every few days or (every few weeks). Is the process of creating a Clay mesh and an Alpha mesh just completely different ends of the spectrum or something? ELI5 please, no disrespect meant at all."
I'll dissect the difference between clay and alpha hair here in this vid. I prefer clay hair in TS4 but loved alpha hair in TS3, so I have a healthy respect for both but in short, yes! very different processes!
