If you are planning a trip from Perth to Albany, this hike needs to be on your itinerary! Located on the Vancouver Peninsula, the Point Possession Heritage Trail offers some of the best views of King George Sound and Princess Royal Harbour.
In this video, we take you along the 5km loop trail, walking past pristine white beaches (Brambles Beach), climbing granite outcrops, and taking in the incredible history of the area where Captain George Vancouver claimed the land in 1791.

Location: Whalers Cove, Albany (approx. 5 hours drive from Perth)
Distance: 5km Loop
Difficulty: Grade 3 (Moderate – some steps and soft sand)
Highlights: Two stunning beaches, panoramic views, and wildflowers (in season).
🚗 Getting There: A scenic drive from Perth down Albany Highway. The trail starts at the Whalers Cove car park, just a short drive from Albany town center via Frenchman Bay Road.
