DRACO AVIATION - BEECHCRAFT B55 BARON REVAMP TO NEW HEIGHTS

The BEECHCRAFT BARON B55 offers a great platform for a wide array of upgrades in terms of performance, powerplant, fuel capacity increase, aerodynamics, avionics, oxygen system, airconditioning and much more.
We have applied in this upgrade proposal video a whole package of the upgrades available for this aircraft.

Now we take another B55 as reference for the project we have in mind with the FEATURED AIRCRAFT OF TODAY as it shows a lot of elements that we also see for the FEATURED AIRCRAFT. We alter items in allocation in terms of AVIONICS SUITE and instruments and we MODERNIZE even further. Our idea is to bring the aircraft to a near new or even better-than-new status.

We have had contact with the providers as to check what can and cannot be done as STC`s have their limits.
They are expensive and require a whole plethora of administrative and burocratic process with official agencies as to get something certified as valid for the granting of an STC and these processes are lengthy and expensive. Very expensive.

You might ask yourself, is it worth it bringing a 1976 Beechcraft Baron B55 through such a huge revamp with multi-month downtime between different MRO`s and STC-holder/installers across the nation? Well, we believe yes! These aircraft deserve a life extension. And with the avionics available today, flying is more intuitive and easily managed.

This aircraft originally has IO-470`with 260hp. The PRESIDENT II conversion that MIKE JONES AIRCRAFT offers brings that to 300hp IO-550-E`s (bigger displacement, smoother running, more power and longer TBO`s). From 520hp total to a 600hp total makes a gain of 80 horsepower. And the benefit is there that the IO-550`s can be run smoothly on the LEAN-OF-PEAK EGT side of the powercurve which further REDUCES FUEL BURN and EXTENDS RANGE. Add to that an option like FUEL TANK/WINGLETS and you get another whopping 200NM extra.
Great travel machines those B-55`s. For a family of four, that is a great twin engine travel aircraft. Just have to look to the big baggage door. You can swing a large size Samsonite suitcase through it without hassle or looking ridiculous trying to press it in under all angles and manoeuvres (kidding!).
