Double bassist Marcello Sung Hyuck Hong based in Germany and active on the European stage, currently serves as a professor of double bass at the Karlsruhe National University of Music. Passionate about nurturing the next generation, he has been dedicated to mentoring aspiring musicians. From 2006 to 2011, he was a member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra as the first Korean. Subsequently, from 2011 until September 2023, he was a permanent member of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Marcello Sung Hyuck Hong exhibited exceptional talent early on, entering the Korean National University of Arts through the arts gifted program while still in the second year of high school at Seoul Arts High School. During his one-year enrollment, he won first place in the Dong-A Music Competition. He later obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts and completed the highest performance course - Solistenexamen at the Freiburg University of Music.
Throughout his career, he has garnered awards in international competitions, performed with orchestras both domestically and internationally, and held solo recitals. He has also served as a guest player with prestigious orchestras such as the Lucerne Festival Orchestra conducted by Claudio Abbado and the Berliner Philharmoniker.
Andrej Jussow received international recognition as a pianist at an early age. He was musically influenced and encouraged for more than a decade by Sontraud Speidel, professor at the Karlsruhe University of Music. Through Michael Uhde and Markus Stange, also professors at the Karlsruhe University of Music, he also expanded his profile as a chamber musician. He was also artistically enriched by Evgeni Koroliov, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Lylia Zilberstein, Evgeni Malinin, Lazar Berman, Menahem Pressler and Martha Argerich.
Andrei Yussov has performed in many countries in Europe, the USA, Russia and Japan. He won numerous international competitions, received several awards and is a recipient of the European Cultural Prize. For more than ten years he has been solo pianist at the Württemberg State Theatres in Stuttgart and performs regularly with the Stuttgart State Orchestra. His extensive solo and chamber music repertoire includes over 30 piano concertos, including all the piano concertos by Beethoven, Chopin and Rachmaninoff.
Andrej Jussow began his pedagogical career while still a student and became a lecturer at the Karlsruhe University of Music after his concert exam. Since 2021 he has also been involved in the organization of the chamber music course. He also took on various leadership positions in artistic and interdisciplinary projects, is one of the founders and a board member of the "International Society for Art Projects of Classical Music" as well as a member of the artistic management of Classicum - Künstlermanagement für klassische Musiker.
