Fendt launches next-generation 1000 Vario high horsepower tractors

Fendt's new 1000 Vario Gen4 tractor series will feature four models ranging from 426 to 550 horsepower.

Farmers caught their first glimpse of the tractors at the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois. In this report, Fendt senior marketing manager David Soliday notes that all new models come standard with the latest 12.4L MAN engine, which includes Fendt's low-speed concept for increased torque at lower RPMs.

There's also optimized horsepower delivery and improved efficiency. The tractors feature adaptive power, which allows users to adjust horsepower from the cab. Operators can reduce horsepower to match the needs of specific implements, improving efficiency and reducing fuel consumption, notes Soliday.

A new lighting package offers up to 120,000 lumens, making the lighting system 67 per cent more efficient than previous models. In the cab, the lighting can be customized to allow for different light settings for different tasks like pulling a grain cart without blinding the combine operator. Soliday also discusses the tractors' versatility, including options for row crop tires and a tire inflation system.

“With the Gen4, we’ve raised the bar again and not just in terms of power but in operator comfort, fuel efficiency and digital integration,” says Soliday. “Most importantly, we’re preparing customers for the future with the first Fendt tractor that can support autonomous operation through PTx OutRun. There’s no other machine on the market more
capable, more comfortable or better prepared for what’s next.”
