No deaths, no bosco. Featuring overclocked firing mechanism gk2 + double barrel boomstick + IFGs in Azure Weald.

starting off no effort november a day early. wait a minute. oh no. being this early is a sign of being nerd. and nerd give effort. oh no no no. oh no. oh god no. oh jeez. ah heck.

randomly in the mood for a blind speedrun. tried out berserker and vet depo today. they went ok. berserker has the problem where im terrified to use the power attack early in the mission because you literally only get one use of the thing because the cooldown is about 2x as long as it should be. vet depo probably was okay, but the primary slowdowns were from more macro mistakes and probably offset any gains from this thing unfortunately.

also tried out a different build for double barrel that i've been wanting to take for a spin for a long time. i was not impressed.

stage 1: probably went the smoothest, though the morkite amount teetered on the edge of being a disaster. ive learned shooting lootbugs to sate your bloodlust is actually god tier because the one little shit shat out a shit of morkite scat and i hoovered up said shit and shat it into molly's shit crack to squeak me over the not-having-to-run-back-a-cave-like-a-chump threshold. in hindsight, the other major mistake was repairing the left mule first instead of the right mule, since the right one's timing was a bit awkward. it was maybe salvageable with an IFG too, so that could've saved me from having to run away so much.

stage 2: pretty sloppy and almost died in a pickaxe hole of my own creation. i noticed about 0.2 seconds after dropping my resupply that i could have just positioned it less than a meter away and had it drill out the aq for me and realizing it so soon made me feel sad and i cried a little bit about it and it was sad and people were sad. im overall content with the aquarqs i went for given a brief look back at the footage, and i think the annoying lug up the hill from the underpit was probably good enough.

stage 3: why did i waste so much time in the first room. gather round and ill tell you a story about why. it's because i am dumby. the end. story over. but seriously i got a fair bit tilted by the tyranny of barrier turrets (the barrier of tyranny turrets?) and that tunnel visioned me into fighting things i shouldn't have fought. i burned like 2 minutes here for no benefit but proving to myself that double barrel is actually kinda butt cheeks and not in the good way. because this was bosco less i probably still would have had to handle the swarm due to pipe e-ing, but had i been the 2 minutes faster getting here in the first place things would have likely gone even smoother and bought more than just 2 minutes overall.

blind speedrun self review: 6/10. prettttty sure rocky mtn was the proper beer for it even with the amt of morkite it ended up being. it has the normal time punishment of any run that doesn't take spowder (speedrun dot com needs a no-spowder category tbh tbh), but i think my funky db experiment as a hedge against dreads made things even worse because it felt pretty useless here. the one thing it did okay was stage 2's quick kill sesh to let me carry things with less interruption, but then it really really let me down in stage 3 especially in the rival push. i mean, it's just devastating that you actually have to aim the bullets against turrets and even still the spread downside can mean the turret doesn't one shot. imagine having to aim a point blank shotgun point blank oof. i give myself a 6/10 but it's actually a 6.9 out of 10 rounded down because i like 69 haha :^) i think it could have been 3-4 minutes faster in this totally blind attempt if i was better, while probably like 6-9 minutes faster in a pre routed speedrun. also bosco definitely could have shaved some time too. overall it could have been better, but also could have been 6.9x worse.
