December 6, 1917. 8:45 a.m. At the busy harbor of Halifax, Nova Scotia, workers, sailors, and residents were starting a normal morning as ships moved through the narrow channel called The Narrows. Then, without warning, two ships collided. In an instant, the entire city of Halifax was changed forever.
