The FLDS is a polygamist break-off group from the mainstream Mormon church. In the 1930s, this group settled in what became known as “Short Creek,” which describes two small towns on the border of Utah and Arizona. Sam shows me where he grew up, and tells stories about what it was like to have a childhood under Warren Jeffs. There are still FLDS members living in this community, but their presence has been greatly diminished since Warren Jeffs was imprisoned.
